The 2025 Vision for Foundations Church

October 28, 2025

The Bible says without a vision, people perish. I believe the same goes for churches.

That’s why I want to share with you where we’re going as a church, where we’ve been, and what’s to come.

The short of it is this: We have a huge dream of where we’re going as a church body. And it’s one that’s going to take every one of us. Each of us has a part to play because God is calling every person at FC to make Jesus famous to the ends of the earth.

At a time when the church is declining, Foundations Church is thriving

We live in a culture right now where, if you look at the news, it says that religion is dying in America. Christianity is on the decline. More churches are closing their doors rather than opening them. People are not going to church as much as they used to.

But that’s far from our story. Our attendance is rising instead of decreasing. We’re seeing people getting saved, the lost becoming found. Messy people are coming in and meeting a Savior named Jesus Christ, who changes their mess into a message. They’re getting baptized. We’re seeing the next generation reached. We’re planting more churches. We’re reaching more schools. We’re equipping more teachers.

Our bold vision for 2025 and beyond is running to win the race

Our vision is based on 1 Corinthians 9:24–27:

“Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.”

I love this part: Run to win, and run with purpose in every step.

Every person I know wants to live life in a way that matters. There’s this felt need that when we die, we want to know our life counted. That it changed the world. That it made a difference.

But that doesn’t happen by accident. We have to run to win, and we have to run with purpose in every step—not just some days, but every day.

Running to win is purposeful and intentional

Here’s my charge to us, and my goal for FC as a community: that we would live life purposefully and intentionally, instead of in a weak and accidental way.

We have to assume the role He’s called us to, and we have to run to win. We need to lead to win. We need to run with purpose in every step, every day of our lives.

So, as a church, how do we do this?

Romans 12:21 says, “Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.”

As a church, we’re not just here to exist. We’re here to win. There is one Savior. There is one Jesus. He says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

We’re not coexisting. We’re here to run to win, with purpose in every step.

That means we’re going to keep planting churches. We’re going to keep equipping schools. We’re going to keep praying for our teachers. We’re going to keep building a building for the next generation. And we’re not going to be conquered by evil—we’re going to conquer evil by doing good.

What’s next? Growth.

Our vision at FC is to continue to grow—spiritually, numerically, and financially.

Healthy things grow. And very unapologetically, we have a goal to reach as many people as we can—to make Heaven as crowded as we can.

Over the next two years, we have a goal to reach over 2,000 people. Why? Because people matter. That’s the whole reason Foundations Church exists, as a community not just for some people, but for all people. A church where messy people are welcome. Our job is to love the lost, so that Jesus can make them found. His job is to clean them—our job is to love them. And they will hear the unfiltered truth of what the gospel says.

What’s next? Connect groups.

The second part of our vision at FC is to launch more connect groups.

Why? Because you can worship in a crowd, but you do life with a group. And every single one of us needs that.

I’ll be honest with you, connect groups can be a little weird. You’re going to meet some awkward people, and there will be uncomfortable moments. But the reality is, we’re all a little weird and we all desperately need people to do life with.

We’re better together.

We can’t force you into a group, but I hope you’ll take this encouragement to heart. The groups are there for you. So join one, start one, or do both, but whatever you do, stop waiting.

What’s next? Investing in the next generation

Our new building addition is an incredible space for kids and teens to experience Jesus on their level. We are not powering down. We are not leveling down. We are not taking our foot off the gas. We are powering up and pressing the gas even harder—because we want to be a church that doesn’t gripe about the next generation, but equips them.

We recognize there’s a calling on their lives. They are the next world changers. They are the next missionaries. They are the next business leaders. They are the future of the church.

Instead of complaining about the next generation, we’re a church that reaches them and believes nothing is impossible for them.

What’s next? More missions

Back in 2017, I was praying in my room. My prayer was this: God, I want my life to matter. I want to run with purpose in every step. I want to reach people for you. I don’t care about having a famous name. I just want to do great things for you.

That’s been my heart from the beginning—to make Jesus famous, not myself.

And in that prayer time, I felt the Holy Spirit speak so clearly: Justin, what if I don’t just want you to reach my children in Tulsa? What if I want you to reach my children around the world?

Since 2018, Foundation Church has built 54 churches in Kenya and 14 in Uganda. That’s 68 churches in just seven years. Alongside that, you’ve built 11 schools, 6 playgrounds, and you support countless teachers every month.

Here’s the goal: in the next two years, we’re going to reach 100 churches total, plus more schools and playgrounds as needed.

That’s the kind of vision God is calling us to—exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ask or imagine.

So, how are we going to get there?

We’ve been working on a process to help every person at FC reach the next step in their journey. It’s a way of putting wheels on growth, so you can continue deepening, strengthening, and growing in your walk with God.

It looks like this:

1. Meet Jesus.

We want every person who comes through these doors to meet Jesus. That’s what it’s all about. Not just hearing an entertaining sermon or enjoying amazing music. If it doesn’t introduce people to Jesus, what are we even doing?

2. Confess and be baptized.

The next step is confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior and getting baptized. Because growing equals changing.

3. Learn about Jesus.

That means actually coming to church on a regular basis, getting into the Word of God, and intentionally spending time in His presence. This is where you deepen your walk.

4. Find community.

Get plugged into a Connect Group. Find your group. Find your tribe. This is where life change happens.

5. Start serving.

Why? Because saved people serve people. Every one of us has gifts and talents God has given us to serve others. And when saved people serve people, those served become saved people.

6. Go out and find people.

We’re called to be found people who find people.

Too many churches exist without producing disciples. They open their doors, but there’s no change happening. At Foundations, we have something to aim for. We’re going to run with purpose—every day, every Sunday, every week. We are running to win.
