Our Beliefs

THE BIBLE IS TRUE AND RELEVANT FOR EVERYONE TODAY.

The Bible is God's Word to all people.  Because the Bible was written by human authors, but inspired by God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit; its teachings are true and completely relevant to our daily lives.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25

GOD EXISTS AS THREE IN ONE.

There is one all-powerful God that is the creator of the universe who has always existed as a trinity of three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Though the three serve separate functions, they are equal in power and authority.

Matthew 28:19; Mark 1:9-11; John 5:21-23; 14:10, 16: Romans 8:9-11; 2 Corinthians 13:14

THE FATHER IS A FAITHFUL AND ALL-POWERFUL GOD.

God the Father is holy, all-powerful, all-knowing, always present, never changing, and completely worthy to be trusted. He loved us so much that He sent His only Son so that we can have a relationship with Him. He is faithful to His people and His promises.

Isaiah 40:28; Exodus 34:6-7; Isaiah 41:10; Psalm 18:30; Hebrews 13:8; James 1:17, 1 Peter 1:15; 2 Peter 3:9

THE SON WAS SENT TO SAVE THE WORLD FROM SIN AND DEATH.

Jesus Christ is completely human, but completely God at the same time. He is the only way for people to come into a right relationship with God. Having lived a sinless human life, Jesus offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death.

Matthew 1:21-23; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 14:33; 16:16; 28:5-6; Luke 24:46-47; John 11:25-27; Romans 3:23-26; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; 3:16

THE HOLY SPIRIT WAS SENT TO HELP BELIEVERS LIVE OUT OUR FAITH.

The Holy Spirit was sent by Jesus after His death and resurrection to empower believers to bodily share the good news of salvation. His presence assures us of our relationship with God, and helps us to be more like Christ. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, comforts us and gives us different gifts so we can build up the church and love others.

Isaiah 61:1-2; Joel 2:28-32; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; Romans 8:9-11; 14-16; 26-27; Ephesians 1:13-14

SALVATION BY GRACE IS A GIFT FROM GOD, BUT WE MUST CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT.

Disobedience to God is called sin, which causes separation from Him and deserves death. The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, is the only way that we can be forgiven of our sin and receive salvation. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, and His death and resurrection as payment for our sin.

John 3:16; Isaiah 1:18; 53:5-6; Matthew 1:21; John 1:12; 5:24; Acts 2:21; 4:12; Romans 3:23-25; 5:8-10; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 2:8-10

WATER BAPTISM IS A DECLARATION OF OUR FAITH AND A COMMAND IN SCRIPTURE.

The Bible encourages us to follow in Jesus' example by being immersed in water. All who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and have asked forgiveness from their sin are commanded to be immersed in water as a public declaration that their old life is dead and of their new life in Christ.

Matthew 28:19; Matthew 3:13-17; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:41; 10:47-48; Romans 6:4

A TRANSFORMED LIFE IS THE EVIDENCE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT'S WORK ON THE INSIDE.

Once we receive salvation and publicly profess Christ through water baptism, we must continue to grow in the work of Grace. We strive daily to choose a life of holiness and righteousness, not returning to the sin from which the cross set us free. We become imitators of the life of Christ, turn away from sin, and wholehearted pursue God's will and purpose for our lives.

Ephesians 4:22-24; Hebrews 12:14; Philippians 3:12-14; Ephesians 2:8-9; Ephesians 5:8-10; Titus 2:11-12; Galatians 5:19-21

HEALING IS MADE POSSIBLE TODAY THROUGH CHRIST'S SUFFERING ON THE CROSS.

The sacrifice that Jesus made through His death on the cross provides not only salvation, but healing (physical, emotional and mental). Jesus' life and ministry were filled with examples of His healing power, and is given as a sign that is to follow believers.

Isaiah 53:5; Psalm 103:2-3; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18; 1 Corinthians 12:9, 28; James 5:14-16

THE CHURCH EXISTS TO BRING GLORY TO GOD AND TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.

The church is a community of believers brought together by their faith in Jesus Christ. Intent on living according to His commands, it seeks to learn and follow the teachings of Christ, and tell others about the Good News of Jesus Christ and His love for everyone.

Matthew 16:18-19; Acts 2:41-47; 1 Corinthians 7:17; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:10-12; 1 Peter 5:1-4

LIFE AFTER DEATH IS EITHER AN ETERNITY WITH GOD OR SEPARATED FROM HIM.

Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life.  Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.

1 John 5:11-12; John 3:16, 36; Romans 6:23; 1 John 2:25, Revelation 20:15
